Rhys Davies as Dai and the
November 6th, 2011
Early in 1962, Dai's manager on the Somerset and Dorset Railway asks for him to return home. Dave, Brian, Raymond and Colin see him off at the Junction, and before he leaves, Dai promises to return one day.
On his way home, Dai stops at an unfamiliar station to allow an express to pass. He drifts off to sleep while his crew leave him to get a drink, when he suddenly hears a strange noise. Looking around, he sees a large diesel standing next to him, with "The Green Howards" on his side. Howard tells Dai that he is going to take him to a scrapyard to earn some money, horrifying him. As Howard goes to refuel, Dai's crew returns and he begs them to get him away. Spotting the diesel, his crew obliges, and Dai races out of the station with Howard giving chase.
Eventually, Dai gets tired and stops next to a siding. His driver jumps down and switches the points, sending Howard off the main line and straight into a line of milk tankers. Chuckling, Dai continues on his way, and a few hours later he arrives at Templecombe, being greeted by a host of other engines.
