Sir Eustace's Secret is the tenth and final episode of the first series of The Dark Railway Series.
Plot[]
The winter of 1960 is a particularly difficult one, and the engines are kept very busy keeping up with the services amidst the awful weather. One evening, Eustace is waiting at Galen Junction for Mr. Dark, who arrives a short while later. Eustace tells him that he has made a decision on his offer: he has decided to accept a transfer to Waterloo, feeling that his place should be on the mainline. Mr. Dark understands, and heads off to fill out the transfer paperwork.
The following morning, Eustace prepares to leave, thinking about the good times he has had on the Dark Railway, though he worries that the engines will not miss him. He waits in the platform with a passenger train to London, and Mr. Dark comes to say goodbye, reminding him he is always welcome on the railway. Suddenly, all of the other engines arrive at the junction, wanting to say goodbye to him properly. Overwhelmed, Eustace tells them he will miss them very much, and promises to return one day.
Thanking them for everything, Eustace leaves the station, smiling to himself as he heads out onto the main line.

Trivia[]
- This episode marks the last appearance of Sir Eustace until The Rebuilding of Sir Eustace Missenden.
- This was the last episode to feature the "until next time" line at the end.
Goofs[]
- Snow can be seen falling inside the shed during the winter scenes. This is due to the fact that the game engine back at this time could not prevent snow and rain from falling inside a scenery object, though now this can be done in game.
